We took Hannah in for her 3 year old check up today. She did not want to go to her Dr. appointment, but I assured her there would be no shots, and everything would be easy peasy. It was for the most part, besides the Doc pulling out one of her already dislodged tubes. That hurt her a bit, and she did cry for what seemed like forever. But the great news is that one of her tubes is completely removed, with the other one not far behind, and we have had zero problems with her ears this entire past year! So hopefully, ear infections are done with for this little girl.
Overall, she was a lot more shy than Henry ever is at these appointments. She wouldn't stand on the scale without being bribed, and mommy had to sit next to her for all of the other stuff. She did great though, and checks out perfectly. Nurse asked us if she knew her shapes, which we laughed since she has known her shapes and letters since her 2 year old check, but since she did know them, she was able to do the vision test, which she passed just fine.
Here are our little peanut's 3 year old stats:
Weight: 26.4 lbs at a whoppin 10th percentile!
Height: 36 3/4" at 39th percentile
Dr. Boonstra has been our pediatrician since Henry was born, and became our neighbor 2 years ago when we moved to Urbandale, so we see him quite often. He has no concerns with her weight, and says her growth is staying steady, and a peanut she will most likely remain. She still has the molescum on her legs, which we will try Tagament for, but going on 1 1/2 years of those pesky little bumps! They don't seem to bother her, and they will eventually go away, so we will try the Tagament and if that doesn't work possibly see a dermatologist in the winter months for removal, if need be.
While we were there, we had him look in Henry's mouth as he started complaining about his throat last night. Sure enough, his throat was swollen, and he has some sort of a virus. Rest, fluids, and Tylenol is all we can do for him at this point. We also had him look in my ear, since I have had a plugged ear for 3 weeks. Indeed, my ear is still infected! Doc assured me that antibiotics will not harm the baby, and to call my regular Dr to get an extended antibiotic to get that fluid cleared up so I can hear again. I know Andy will appreciate that! So great to have built such strong relationships with the people that take care of us so we can feel comfortable asking him to check all three of us out at Hannah's well child visit!!
